We are a family of friends, practicing intentional community to nurture our individual and collective growth. Here, we believe that a deep connection to each other and to the land fosters a simple, meaningful, and joyful life.
Our core purpose is to strengthen the individual and the collective through connection and community. We cultivate a shared life based on mutual respect, healthy minds and healthy bodies. Our vision extends beyond our property, as we aspire to one day expand our footprint to a larger property.
Nestled on a three-acre lot just 15 minutes from the conveniences of Lexington, our community offers the best of both worlds. Our property features a park-like front yard, an expansive acre of grass perfect for growing food, and a wild, wooded area in the back. With plans for a privacy fence and additional tree plantings, this space will evolve into a secluded "secret garden" setting.
The main house serves as a shared community hub for communal activities or individual purposes. Possibly built by the Shakers, this 100 year old house has its charm, and its quirks. Well worn wood floors throughout, dining room table for eight and a wood stove make for a cozy atmosphere.
Individual dwellings will be added as needed. We are mindful of local zoning laws regarding multiple dwellings and are exploring solutions, such as Accessory Dwelling Units, to expand our housing capacity in a way that is legal and sustainable.
We plan to add amenities like a swimming pool and a sand volleyball court, creating an ideal setting for both serene contemplation and social connection. A stage and amphitheater is a possibility as well.
Community life is centered around a "want-to" attitude towards shared projects. We value leisure and believe that cooperation allows everyone to live a less busy life.
We practice intentional living through:
- A short daily meditation
- Contemplative landscaping and sustainable practices
- The freedom to choose projects that spark joy and interest
- A weekly shared meal
- Spontaneous laughter and merry making
Our ideal community members are active, able-bodied individuals with a mindfulness practice who are seeking a deeper connection with others and a love for the land.
We are looking for people who are:
- Financially secure
- Able to contribute to the community in a significant way, whether through skills or shared work
- Drawn to a minimalist, simple lifestyle
- Interested in maintaining and enjoying our property
- Ready to embrace connection and fellowship
We are especially interested in those with a desire to learn or skills in areas like building, farming, cooking, gardening, or the arts.
We are a new project actively seeking core members to build our community from the ground up. If our vision resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you. We follow a careful, multi-step intake process to ensure a good fit for everyone:
Initial Email: Introduce yourself and why you feel called to our community.
Phone Call: A casual conversation to discuss expectations and answer your questions.
Property Visit: See the property in person and share a cup of tea, coffee or refreshing beverage.
Spend a Day: Experience a typical day with the community.
Stay a weekend: Spend a full day to get a deeper sense of community life.
Full Person Introduction: A formal (but not too serious) meeting with existing members.
Credit Check: A routine credit check conducted by a management company.
Financial Arrangements: Rent is $750 per month, which helps covered shared expenses.
